Freedom offered by Christ
Freedom in Christ is the true freedom, as the Lord Jesus emphasized: “Therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed” (John 8:36) It is not a political or material freedom, but rather, it’s the freedom of the spirit from the dominance of desires and wickedness, as the Lord said: “Most assuredly, I say to you, whoever commits sin is a slave of sin.” (John 8:34).
Profit from the viewpoint of the Church
The Church is a divine-human institution in the midst of the world, and a living Embassy for heaven on earth that receives messages from heaven and broadcasts it to all hearts in all languages.
Where can I see Him?
+ The cross is the only way that leads to Resurrection and Life for it leads man in the narrow path, and therefore, it makes him steadfast in the road of eternal life.
Setting out towards Jerusalem
There is a unique incident about the Lord Jesus in the Gospel of Saint Luke that was not mentioned by any of the other Evangelists. It is mentioned in the ninth chapter as follows:
The Path to Ascension
Last Thursday, we celebrated the feast of Ascension of Our Lord Jesus Christ to the heavens. It is one of the major feasts of the Lord according to the rite of the Coptic Orthodox Church.
The sacrament of Baptism
As we live the period of the Holy Fifties, we would like to briefly talk about the sacrament of Baptism which is death and resurrection with Christ, and through it, we acquired new life.
Saint Athanasius and the Power of the Word
Today, we commemorate the departure of the great Patriarch, Saint Athanasius the apostolic, the 20th pope of the see of Saint Mark the evangelist.
Saint Mark the Ecumenical Evangelist
Today, we celebrate the commemoration of our great evangelist St Mark to whom we owe our knowledge of Christ, and we are honored that we are his sons in the faith.
The Power of the Resurrection in the Life of Saint George
On this day, we celebrate the Martyrdom of St. George, the Prince of the Martyrs. This feast usually falls every year during the Holy Fifty days in which we live the joys of Resurrection and triumph over death which are given to us through Christ Jesus.
That I may know Him and the power of His resurrection
Christian faith is not merely information or theories about God, but it is focused on the living personal relationship with Jesus Christ. This relationship is not only based on faith and love, but also on entering, in complete freedom, into a fellowship and unison with Him. More precisely, it is to enter into a New Covenant with Him. This is what Christians do in Baptism, which is to die to the old life and obtain the power of resurrection and new life. Here, knowledge becomes a living experience, and a relationship of steadfastness, unity, and delight from which the power of resurrection radiates.
The Kingdom of Christ
It was evident that the lord Jesus entered into Jerusalem as a King, even though His personal character, and the manner by which He entered, were much different from worldly Kings. He is a simple and humble King, a meek and peaceful King, a spiritual King who is sojourner to this world. Nonetheless, He is a great and strong King, a just and victorious King (Zechariah 9:9), a fearful, but at the same time, loving King.
