The Divinity of Christ (4)

First: Christ has all the Divine characteristics [God’s epithets]

He is the scrutinizer of hearts and He knows the thoughts:

"And some of the scribes were sitting there and reasoning in their hearts, "Why does this Man speak blasphemies like this? Who can forgive sins but God alone? But immediately, when Jesus perceived in His spirit that they reasoned thus within themselves, He said to them, Why do you reason about these things in your hearts?" (Mark2:6-8).

"I will kill her children with death, and all the churches shall know that I am He who searches the minds and hearts. And I will give to each one of you according to your works" (Rev2:23).

He is the Savior and the Redeemer:

"Therefore He is also able to save to the uttermost those who come to God through Him, since He always lives to make intercession for them" (Heb7:25).

"Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved" (Acts4:12).

"Then they said to the woman, “Now we believe, not because of what you said, for we ourselves have heard Him and we know that this is indeed the Christ, the Savior of the world” (John4:42).

"who gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us from every lawless deed and purify for Himself His own special people, zealous for good works" (Titus2:14).

He is the owner of the Heavenly Kingdom:

“Assuredly, I say to you, there are some standing here who shall not taste death till they see the Son of Man coming in His kingdom(Mat16:28).

"I charge you therefore before God and the Lord Jesus Christ, who will judge the living and the dead at His appearing and His kingdom" (2Tim4:1).

When the Son of Man comes in His glory, and all the holy angels with Him, then He will sit on the throne of His glory.....Then the King will say to those on His right hand, ‘Come, you blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world" (Mat25:31-34).

Here it appears clearly that the kingdom is that of Christ. He is the King who will come to judge the whole world justly and there is no other king but him.

While telling the virgin St. Mary the good news about the Holy Child who was to be born of her, Archangel Michael said about him:

"And He will reign over the house of Jacob forever, and of His kingdom there will be no end" (Luke1:33)

In the book of Daniel, there was also a marvellous prophecy about the incarnate son of God asserting that He is the owner of the eternal kingdom, after He offers Himself as a sacrifice for the life of the world "I was watching in the night visions, And behold, One like the Son of Man, Coming with the clouds of heaven! He came to the Ancient of Days, And they brought Him near before Him .Then to Him was given dominion and glory and a kingdom, That all peoples, nations, and languages should serve Him. His dominion is an everlasting dominion, Which shall not pass away, And His kingdom the one Which shall not be destroyed" (Dan7:13-14)  Here How can all peoples and nations serve anyone other than God?! ‘Unless the Son of Man is Himself God manifest in the flesh!
