Yes, and she deserves more than this

This story was narrated by a virtuous Mother-Superior in one of the convents.

A nun, who had departed few years ago, appeared to her and they talked for nearly two whole hours. It was a fascinating conversation where she answered all her questions regarding the life she is living in heaven. Let’s pick from her conversation some of the words about St. Mary the mother of light…

- “Don’t you always do glorifications for the Virgin on earth?  And everyday there is a special Theotokia for her, beautiful long hymns, and you ask for her intersession in every praise and every liturgy?

- Yes! Why?

-Do you know mother...She deserves much more than this. She never stops praying or interceding on behalf of mankind in heaven, so that God lifts his wrath, has mercy on the world, and be patient with evil people.  She intercedes on our behalf and asks for the sake of all the needy, the weak, and the poor people all day and all night. She says to Him, O Lord, My son, my God, and my beloved,It’s okay, be patient, show mercy to the world, have compassion towards mankind, and grant them your peace.

Do you know mother…She doesn’t only deserve that you do a glorification for her everyday, but rather she deserves to be glorified all day and night because she is truly the faithful advocate for mankind.”

My beloved ones, this month is the Coptic month of Kiayhk, the month of praise and glorification of the pure virgin, the mother of light. In it, we have the beautiful vigils known as (Seven and Four) in which we praise the lord Jesus and glorify the pure virgin who gave birth to him for our sake. And we truly enjoy the angelic life through praise and cheerfulness.

Those who live their lives detached from the church, don’t understand what we do! And they wonder if the virgin deserves all this toil and vigil1!? But us, the children of the church, the children of Jesus, and the children of the virgin, we understand what we are doing for she deserves much more than this. At the end, we are the ones who benefit because we take blessings form her accepted intercessions and prayers on our behalf before our Lord Jesus in heaven.

Let’s be keen, brethren, to take as much blessings as we can during these magnificent vigils and praises, which we wait for every year, so that we win the mercy of Christ through the intercessions of his pure and loving mother Saint Mary.
