The Divinity of Christ (2)

First: Christ has all the Divine characteristics [God’s epithets]

He is the Creator:

"All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made" (John 1:3).

"He was in the world, and the world was made through Him, and the world did not know Him" (John 1:10).

"has in these last days spoken to us by His Son, whom He has appointed heir of all things, through whom also He made the worlds" (Heb. 1:2).

There are also miracles that manifest Christ’s ability to create such as the miracle of feeding the multitudes (John 6). In this miracle, He created extra food to feed five thousand families that were impossible to be fed just by five loaves and two fish. Another miracle is that of transformation of water into wine at the wedding of Cana of Galilee (John 2). Here too, He created new elements that did not exist in water. There is also the miracle of healing the born blind (John 9) where the process of creating two new eyes from the dust of earth for the blind man is evidently similar to creating Adam from dust at the beginning of creation.

He is the Giver of Life:

"For as the Father raises the dead and gives life to them, even so the Son gives life to whom He will" (John5:21).

"For the bread of God is He who comes down from heaven and gives life to the world” (John 6:33).

"My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me. And I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; neither shall anyone snatch them out of My hand" (John 10:27,28).

There are also many miracles of raising the dead performed by Christ, confirming that He is the life-giver. Among those miracles are the raising of the Jairus’s daughter [(Mark 5); the raising of the son of the widow of Nain many hours after his death while he was carried in the coffin (Luke 7); and the raising of Lazarus four days after his death (John 11).

He is not bound by the constraints of time:

"Jesus said to them, “Most assuredly, I say to you, before Abraham was, I AM" (John 8:58).

"And now, O Father, glorify Me together with Yourself, with the glory which I had with You before the world was" (John 17:5).

"Father, I desire that they also whom You gave Me may be with Me where I am, that they may behold My glory which You have given Me; for You loved Me before the foundation of the world" (John 17:24).

"Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever" (Heb. 13:8).

He is Omnipresent:

"For where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there in the midst of them" (Matt. 18:20).

"teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age" (Matt. 28:20).

"I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me" (Gal. 2:20).

He has descended from Heaven:

"The Jews then complained about Him, because He said, I am the bread which came down from heaven" (John 6:41).

"No one has ascended to heaven but He who came down from heaven, that is, the Son of Man who is in heaven" (John 3:13).

"He who comes from above is above all" (John 3:31).
